We are in love with the winter hardy princess lilies, and have been for quite a while. They have been in peak bloom for several weeks now, with no sign of slowing down. Here’s our oldest clump of Alstroemeria ‘Princess Fabiana’ this week. Shockingly, these have also been winter hardy for years in Western Michigan Zone 5b/6a. We think if more people knew how great these are in the garden, everyone would have them. Half day sun is best, although they will also be fine with slightly more or slightly less.
Decent variegation. Has this been crossed with Rock & Roll? Imagining the variegation and winter hardiness.
Variegated edged monocots like alstroemeria yield only green seedlings, so you would need a streaked foliage pod parent to get a variegated offspring.
I have a iris that the flower looks like the one pictured. the tuber or rizone has strips going around it , the bloom appears about half way up the foliage also blooms later than the other irises I orginaly found this iris growing in a ditch in standing water, it will also grow in dry soil. I have never saw a picture of this iris before. Thank you for posting
