Sum of Summer

He’re a shot from our garden that we see every morning, featuring a drift of the giant, sun-loving Hosta ‘Sum and Substance’…and much more.

Below is another shot from the same location in the garden, but looking north. Who said summer gardens need to be boring?

  1. Good morning. Are the plants irrigated, or left to “Mother Nature”? In top picture, what is the tree in the center of the photo? In the bottom picture, what is the blue flowering plant to the left of center?

  2. Thanks for posting views of the garden. It’s too easy to photograph individual plants and forget the bigger picture. Yes, I’m guilty of doing this.
