Exochorda

Exochorda is a little-known monotypic genus in the rose family. The single species E. racemosa is divided into 4 subspecies, ranging primarily from southeastern China, with a disjunct population in the “Stans” (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan). Exochorda is a small shrub that flowers for us in late winter, usually starting around March 1. Pictured below in our
