A Shot of Summer to Go

Here’s a recent garden combo that we’ve been enjoying with purple eucomis (pineapple lily), Agapanthus ‘Navy Blue, backed with Foeniculum vulgare ‘Purpureum’ (bronze fennel).

Eucomis autumnalis Naude's Neck in flower3Eucomis autumnalis ‘Naude’s Neck’ is a dwarf that’s just amazing, and the flowers last for months in the garden. Eucomis are both drought and heat tolerant.  Hardiness is 6b-8b

Eucomis ‘Sparkling Burgundy’ is also looking quite nice in the garden today as you’ll see if you join us for the final two days of our Summer Open Nursery and Garden.  This is the first plant we named and introduced over 30 years ago. Sunny and well drained soils are the key for growing this well.
