Winter Scene

Here’s a scene from the winter garden with lots of evergreen color. The yellow is our Illicium parviflorum ‘Florida Sunshine’.

  1. Beautiful! Deer, rarely an issue in summer, destroy everything evergreen in winter that’s in their grasp. Everything except my illiciums like “Florida Sunshine”, that is.

  2. There are a couple of taller branches on the Illicium. Mine are growing similarly. Should these taller branches be pruned?

  3. Hello, I purchased a banana boat sedge at the fall open house and it looks dead. Does it go dormant like this in winter and spring back soon? As well as the Heron’s pirouette?
